Happy is the child
who overcame the odds

Happy is the color yellow,
the color orange,
the color green
The one who isn't satisfied
by the thought of being mean
The one who loves their family
and on each other
they can lean
The one who has been good
and in others
good has seen

Happy is the mother, the father,
the child,
who never argue,
and in their house, it's mild
Never have to worry about
the laundry being piled
Never have to worry about
the child being wild

Happy is me
who lives a good life
still has my mother
though my father left twice
I'm happy for my family,
and I'm happy for my friends
I'm happy I'm the one
the younger ones can depend

Happy is the person
who to their love wed
