watching as the forlorn soul weeps at its own demise
i toss away my battered and rusty crown of old time
king of roses never was i
indeed i am nothing but a shadow
a wisper in the dark
the angels will no longer hear me
for faded have i become, lost my golden spark
yes i had a heart at once upon a time
but it kept breaking to pieces everytime i tried to put it back together
i have silenced myself in this endearing and oh-so-familiar wave of nothingness wrapped inside a dream as i scream to any who would listen that nothing is exactly what it seems

Grow accustomed to a nightmare, and soon lose fear of dreadful events. Accept pain of heart, and it quickly takes on the guise of ordinariness; as does the darkness of the mind and soul which tries to deceive the person trapped inside of his/her good intentions (and deprives them of the light needed for the good life).

Take control, disallow the dreaded darkness. Stand in the light for a moment, then write about your positive side. You’ll be glad you did.

Don’t waste your talent on dark poetry (and, believe me, you do have a talent with descriptive words) when you could be spreading smiles and laughter.

Try it . . . you’ll like it!
Good Luck,
John
