Here I lay still on the edge of my bed,
Vodka in one hand pills in the other,
Looks like this time I’ve made death my blood brother.

I walk alone in the shadows of this land,
With only the reaper to hold onto my hand,
He tells me he loves me, he holds my heart,
But all the while he tears me apart.

Squeezing my soul laughing as I fall,
Down will come me, my sanity & all,
The wrong side of dead isn’t a good place,
It’s one where you have horror smiling in your face.

The stench of death lays heavy in the air,
I cry out but it seems no-one is there,
Nobody there to hear my last cries,
Not a single person present to witness a soul die.

It seems I have awoken into this hell,
I’ve fallen too deep to get out of this well,
A lonely place I have visited so often,
I think maybe this time it will be my coffin.

Black is the colour I wear around my neck,
I can honestly say I’m an emotional wreck,
I can’t think straight my head’s that far gone,
The devil will smile as my misery lives on.

Nazzy wrote a poem with the same title, but the similarity ends there, it seems..
This is awful, hun.. I mean, it's a good poem, but it's so sad, and terrible..
I seriously hope you are not feeling this way and this is just a poem.
This is a good write hun,
Phil

Hail to thee walker who walks beyond the death, such a work this is that does well reflect the darksome mood of a soul in hurting...it is artful enough yet it has echoes in it that I find familiar...the release of a wounded soul...or just a really talented writer who can emulate such expressions...regeardless I find this to be a poem that speaks to me......a mood that I am all too familiar with ...though it caould be improved in rhythm and cadence to make it more menacing...but all in all it si scary adn depressive ebough...nice write!

Sadly my friend, misery is a part of life, just as is laughter and love. All of them add together to make us who we are.
This is exceptional

I think you are the queen of dark poetry - you always make it real, and poetic, but keep the truth of it intact.

nice one-

Wow is all I can say. This poem is amazing it takes a truly genius mind to come up with a poem that is so dark, yet is so elegant and graceful. You are truly remarkable. Keep on writing these wonderful poems.
