He developes something new
He compromises another color
He leaves the canvas blank
The painter paints with all black
He makes the canvas darker
He mirrors the images of a past
That he knows he can't escape
Like a flood flooding the South Pacific
He floods the canvas grey
He floods it until there's nothing left
He floods it until it's drowned
All he needs to know is nothing
All he needs to see is everything
Common sense plagues him
While it ravages his mind
Bewildered and still so calm
The colors fade together
Astonished by the words
That speak through him on paper
The painter paints a lovely trend
He remembers something of old
Of a time when something different
Stopped the suffering and cold
A time when nobility meant something
When honor was a virtue
But he sees those colors fade now
And there's nothing he can do
So he paints what he knows
On his canvas of nothingness
He relishes in his idealism
And is content with times regressed [comments] => 1 [counter] => 143 [topic] => 48 [informant] => InexactExactness [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
