No great surprise
As the hopes of a new world
Begin to rise

His fantasies only worked
Within a framework of lies
As the facts become known
The world can only despise

A weak man and narrow
With so little insight
That the neo cons used
When conditions were right

Pouring their poisons
Into his mind
That’s how the wrongheaded policies
Of Bush were defined

Based on grief, deception
ambition and fear
The conditions for their lies
Are now less and less here

Though they will try hard
To keep them afloat
Repeating their falsehoods
Robotic and rote

Their time is now passing
We see them fade
A bunch of lying losers
In knee-jerk parade

With lost integrity
Minds full of lies
Blind to the facts
And deaf to the cries

Tens of thousands slaughtered
By an illegal war
As millions now ask:
“What was it all for?”

So that bin Laden
Could have what he wanted?
And Islamic state?
Not the freedom much vaunted

Thousands of dead lie
on both sides now
And we start to see clearly
“Why” and “How”

Neo con lies told
again and again
Deceiving liars
Not true statesmen

Manipulating grief
Abusing fear
With massive incompetence
They brought us here

Now we see them fade
Each day more and more exposed
A new hour beckons
As an old door is closed

The Bush fantasy world is dying
No great surprise
As the hopes of a new world
Begin to rise
