a dream where the moon rose in the mourning
and the sun set at night

Where evil consumed my soul
and I wasn't a normal girl like the rest of those
Where my father was around
and my mother was no where to be found
Where the world is lost in translation, no life
and we're completely filled with strife
My brothers and sister don't exist
Where even though having some was on my Christamas list
Black is the new yellow
Yellow is the new black
Where I suffer from depression but put on a happy face
hiding my feelings and invisibility I embrace

The pregnant girl across from me had her baby
was kicked out of house and home
But she promised herself, "This baby I won't disown"

The boy in the back of class had a black eye,
he won't in no gang so who whupped his ass
I found out it was his dad as time passed

My best friend's in the hospital for two broken ribs
because she left her boyfriend, for that I would forgive

I saw the cheerleader at the end of the field made herself throw up
I guess populartiy, money and that cute jock over there wasn't enough

A girl used to sit in that empty chair
she met a guy on the internet and you know what happens there

A jock died yesterday night
cuz he thought he could hold his liquor
but he barely put up a fight

Reality TV doesn't even come close to reality
Reality is pain, happiness, and need I say death
yeah, those things and something else
We underestimate reality by blocking it out
I live in a fantasy world, reality doesn't exist
I imagine things, write them down, and that's as real as it gets
But everyone doesn't have the same definition for reality
but reality has the same definition for humanity

I had a dream
a dream where the moon rose in the mourning
