Array ( [sid] => 88934 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => I Was There For You [time] => 2005-03-27 10:14:09 [hometext] => Being there for someone who was never there for you makes a difference in someones life...never make the mistake and turn your back on someone who was there for you. [bodytext] =>
I was awake when the crickets sang,
I was awake when the phone rang,
I was awake to hear your cries,
I was awake as my heart dies,
Chaos gently descending,
Losing a battle I was never wining,
When I lay bleeding on your bathroom floor,
Don't you dare say you couldn't have done more,
As I bleed myself dry,
Don't you dare look at me-Don't you dare cry,
Oh my sacred one,
How I cared-so I'd run,
To you anytime I needed a "friend",
For whom reality would even bend,
Tired eyes,
And breathless cries,
Neverending battles of a heart so cold,
Struggles of a hollow and empty soul,
What have I done?
Left you alone as dim eyes prove I'm gone,
I promised you I wouldn't,
So I came back-though I felt I shouldn't,
Beautiful death cradled me close,
And this-this is what I chose?
Will I be nothing?
I'd rather die than never be your something,
If you knew how I felt,
You might have helped,
Why torment me?
Caged in darkness-unable to see,
Frozen in a cold place,
Unable to see any other loving face,
You saved me,
You'd jaded me,
Why did you do this-just to see?
I've cowered in this corner-you've been cold to me,
A lost memory,
Simply fades to me,
I'm a memory to you,
I'll fade away soon,
All you have to do is wait,
To be dealt ill cards of fate,
This is what you chose to create,
And it's my soul that will bend and break,
But I'll dance to the beat of your loving heart,
In a trance when letting myself fall apart,
I'll stumble and fall,
Everytime I hear those silent calls,
Have I lost you?
Chaos gently descending,
Losing a battle I was never winning,
Have you lost me too? [comments] => 3 [counter] => 204 [topic] => 52 [informant] => MysticFireFairy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )

It's so strong... I've been there, and can relate. I think we all wonder if that person would care if we were dead... would hold us if we were dying or would kick us and walk away. It hurts so much... and that feeling comes through in your poem. Excellently done! I loved it!
