I wish you didn’t have to go through all of this
I can’t believe that you have gone, my heart will only deny
And when I sit to think about it, all I can do is cry
I know that you may not have known the friendship that we had
It was something that I treasured and it made me oh so glad
But now you’ve gone away, and I am left here all alone
I feel that someone stole you away, and now I’m on my own
Sure, I’ve got other friends, but no one can replace
That special thing that we had, that smile on your face
I saw you lie there in the casket, but I could tell, I knew
That person there and the person you were, that definitely wasn’t you
I cannot say just how to explain my feelings that I feel
But even though I know you’re gone, I don’t know how to deal
God has his purpose, he has a plan, and he knows that we are hurt
Yet, even though I know it’s true, no one can undo this curse
I’m glad you’re in a better place, in Heaven till the end
God, you take good care of her, she is still my best friend
Marianne, you rest in peace, and I love you all the more
But don’t forget that I’m still here, heck, what are best friends for?
You’re body may be underground but your spirit is still here
Have a great time up in Heaven, and I will meet you there

Refreshing.....though sincere it wasn't depressing...it actually made me smile, i've had people i loved die years ago and i still can't write a poem about them that wouldn't depress the rest of the world....excellent.

A touching poem, indeed. May you find blessings amidst the curse that does exist, and light where you expected to find darkness.
