My breathing quickens in pace,
And my heart starts to race.
You slowly take off the linen of lace
With bareness left in its place.

You whisper loving things in my ear
Only loud enough for me to hear.
You are in control of all of my fear
With each drop of a glistening tear.

My body's yours as your hands caress me.
The unfelt pleasure leaves me empty
With the unfilled expectations of need.
Yet, you just leave me lying there to bleed.

I was left lying there to cry wanting to die,
Because my father's love was a lie.
He raped me with the whys
Of why I never deserved to live life,
And nightmares haunt me every night. [comments] => 11 [counter] => 262 [topic] => 48 [informant] => essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

A Glistening Tear

Wow, deep, wide, strong work of art.
I too have had my nitemares but not from my parents.
I can so relate and feel the passion-n-agony.
Huggs, luv, faith, hope, joy, peace,
emy

wow that is really amazing. I can relate... it's so sad, but very well written. Inspiring, even. I enjoy reading your poetry, it's so real.

Very powerful piece of work. My heart aches to light the darkness where those nightmares dwell.

this is probably my new favorite poem by you, for some reason it just really got to me and i can't put my finger on why. there was just so much strength and weight in the words, and the 'glistening tear' was a brilliant touch, i just loved this.
