I stayed awake all night.
Still the dreams slipped through,
the seams of my tangled mind.

The bitter past is the present and the future.
Omnipresent and everlasting.
Never changing for the better,
but always mutating for the worst.
Changing form and growing stronger,
as it has conquered the throne of my thoughts…

In my distorted view I cannot look ahead.
Flash backs keep on haunting me.
Forcing me to face the bitter truth,
which I so eagerly want to burry.

The bitter past is my present and my future.
The ruler of all of me.
The one who predicts and regulates.
The one who ultimately decides.
Incarcerated here,
I stay awake all night,
held by its chains

Wow I really like this one. The second stanza is my favorite. I just love the way you wrote it
