Read it if you want or don't I don't really ***** care. * [bodytext] => Swallow that bitter pill
That enables you to smile
Behind your bleeding wrists and empty eyes
Paste on that sick disguise
As you wander, alone, through your forest of lies

I am nothing, nothing special
Nothing but a sinner
Drunkenly giving in to these lies
I can't heal the ache
No matter how I choose to escape
I despise these feelings
And the thoughts that ensue
Perched above a cliff
About to give in
And let these tears rule
So cold and so alone
Wrists stapled together
Just to stop the bleeding
I told myself I wouldn't feel for you
But I can only lie to myself for so long
Because you don't need me
Though I still tell myself I need you
Entombed behind a wall of insecurity
I long to see your happiness
As I forsake my own
Give in to the disease of bitterness
As self-pity grows
Wipe away the persistent tears
From these swollen eyes
I am nothing, nothing special
I am nothing but a sinner

Swallow that bitter drink
That enables myself to frown
Behind my bleeding wrists and dangerous eyes
Paste on my sick disguise
As I wander, alone, through my forest of lies

It is good, i especially liked the first and last stanzas, it was a great way to start it and a great way to end it.

Joel you rock. This was so powerful. I absolutely could feel the pain. It hit me hard in the face. Parts were very relatable which made your words real to me. I think you did an outstanding job sweetie. ANd I loved :

Entombed behind a wall of insecurity
I long to see your happiness
As I forsake my own
Give in to the disease of bitterness
As self-pity grows

It is so hard to love. You want that person to be happy, but as you state sometimes you must give up what you want in order for that to happen. It is a bittersweet thing, love. I hope you cheer up hun, but if not keep writing, this sht is killer. Loves it!

Joel, this was just an incredible write. It was powerful and it was written so well.
I don’t drink but I can somehow relate to this, everything about this was just perfect
I loved how your mind works and im glad I got to read this.

Because you don't need me
Though I still tell myself I need you
Entombed behind a wall of insecurity
I long to see your happiness
As I forsake my own
Give in to the disease of bitterness
As self-pity grows
Wipe away the persistent tears
From these swollen eyes
I am nothing, nothing special
I am nothing but a sinner

I can relate to those words so well, I still feel it everyday.

Thanks for sharing such an amazing work.

Jane

BRAVO!! well done.
I love how you structured this poem. Although its nothing special in your eyes, it really hit me hard in other places. Simply beautiful construction and vivid wording.
