Array ( [sid] => 88362 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => I owe you my life [time] => 2005-03-22 16:12:42 [hometext] => I wrote this for my bestfriend because if it wasnt for the colors i represent he would still be around. Me my bestfriend and my bro all ran away and only me and my brother came home. This is for you Justin. [bodytext] => I’m still alive
But you just had to be brave
U saved my life
And your the one to pay
I was the one they wanted
But u took the hit
U fell to your knees
And that was it
U laid on the ground
Your gaze right at me
I held your head in my hands
I cried in the street
I took off my flag
And pressed it to your chest
Against the bullet hole
From where you wound bled
It’s all my fault
I hated to say good-bye
No one came to help
All I could do was watch u die
I held u in my arms
Until my brother pulled me off
For the sirens began to blare
We had to run from the cops
I’ll never forget the day
When I lost my best friend
Not even time can help
These wounds will never mend
I heard your dad swear
I watched your mom cry
As I told them u risked your life
And your body hadn’t survived
There’s not a day that goes by
Not a night I can forget
For the nightmare lives on
I wake in a pool of sweat
U taught me to be loyal
How to love and not to hate
You gave me inspiration
Why was it you God had to take
I loved you so much
I still do to this day
Can you hear me at night?
When I fold my hands and pray
I hear your voice in my head
I talk to you in my thoughts
I see you in the past
I feel the impact that you brought
So for every tear I cry
Know that I’m thinking of you
But someday we’ll be together
When finally my days are through

This is such a heart-wrenching write. I was very nearly in tears over this, so touching and moving as it is. Truly remarkable... I'm sorry you had to lose your friend. Keep your chin up, and thanks for sharing.

Take Care
- Becca
