A Lover's Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep,
My heart in lover's arms do keep.
Holding close throughout the night,
Cherished close to morning's light.
Longing for that warm embrace,
Tear-streaked pillows show the trace.
Missing hugs and kisses more,
Counting time as I endure.
Till in my arms they are again,
Then my longing is sure to end.
Amen.....
