I sit quiet and alone
Sipping a favorite of mine
Letting my mind roam

The taste so strong and sweet
Brings back memories vividly
From my head to my feet
They totally envelop me

The ocean breeze blowing
Making my hair fly
My heart’s beat increasing
With you by my side

The adventure of my life
Stumbling our way through the dark
With emotion, the night was rife
Nothing could put out our spark

I see you across the table
A crowd of people around
No need to be social
Your voice, the only sound

Maybe I’ll see the first lesson
On water, I learned to stand
Such an exciting session
Filled with water, sun and sand

Whereas the event caused pain
My leg felt anguish
On the quad, I did remain
Even this, I cherish

More clearly than the rest
The intimacy we shared
You and I, breast to breast
To which nothing else compared

Each and every night
We relaxed with the brew
We enjoyed every site
A special trip for me and you

Do you remember that feeling?
The one from so long ago
When our senses were reeling
And joy seemed to endlessly flow

I remember it clearly
Exceedingly I do miss
When you wanted to love me
Unquenchable, the urge to kiss

So many pieces
One common thread
Intensity, each sip increases
Visions of you in my head

Carrying me to my past
A very special flavor
Remembered joy that will last
Peppermint tea, I so favor

Well I also love peppermint tea but this poem had so much to say beyond that. It was nostalgic, reflective, open and for a moment I saw scenes come alive thru your poetry.

I liked everything about your poem.
