Array ( [sid] => 87602 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Too Young to Die [time] => 2005-03-15 23:34:44 [hometext] => I wrote this for a madd convention while in highschool... it kinda strikes a chord with me.. when I performed it alot of people told me that it was awesome. It is a monologue. [bodytext] => (Curtain comes up)
( a girl about the age of 16 is on stage walking around)
( she speaks..)

It's Springtime now,- or is it Fall?
Maybe, just maybe, it isn't a season at all!(giggle)
Where am I?(looking around)
What am I doing here?(looking around)
Where is here?(looking around confused)
Where are all my friends?
Did they all disappear?(still in state of confusion)
Where have they gone?(directs towards audience)
Have they been gone for long? (still at audience)
Gee, so much white...(pause, turn around slowly)
Wait...(voice shaking)
So much white!!?(voice frantic)
God!! What's happened to me?!?(totally "lose" it)
Remember, remember! Oh God hear my plea!!( silence, head down-as if listening for something)
Oh God, (confused)there's a horrible sight I can't see, but I can hear....(head sideways now)
Sirens!!(excited)
I also hear voices!!(still excited)
So many voices(nervousness)
and crying too....
"Hey can I help??? What can I do!?" (yell out)
(narrate-tell story- for awhile)
Then the veil had been lifted.....
and what a horrible sight I could see....
I could see a car being towed from the lake,
and when I saw the teens inside the car, my memory began to wake,
and I realized that....
I was dead...(fall to knees talking to audience)
I remember now.... ( silent for a few seconds)
We were speeding that night (start crying)
we hit a bump....
skid.... (start rocking back and forth)
and flipped off a bridge into a lake....
Lord, this is the biggest mistake I ever made,
I shouldn't have let my friends drive drunk... (cry a little harder and still rock)
I'm sorry mom,
dad,
I love you both (get to knees/still crying/clasp hands)
but please take it back!! ( beg/panic - still crying)
I'm too young to die!!!
I'll never do it again!! I promise I'll be good!!!
Please mommy, I wanna come home!!
I'll do what ever you say!! (plead louder- cry harder)
Mommy, I'm scared!!!
I don't wanna die...
please, please, please, make it better.... ( cry a little softer- talk slower and softer- still pleading)
I don't wanna die...( sit back on feet from knees and put head into hands- crying softly)

This sounds like a great monologue and it really teaches an important life lesson
