Wonder opens wide
Beneath blue eyes
And she is all of everything
Mountain streams
Her teardrops seem
Underneath a loving sky

Even when
she doesn't cry

Whispers of the wilderness
To the siren's call, she consents
Footsteps falling on crackling leaves
A respite there within the trees
As raindrops descend from the sky
She closes her eyes... and smiles
Maybe, she thinks, as they fall
She needn't really cry at all

~

Wonder opens wide
Behind brown eyes
And she is all of every being
Liquid moonbeams
Her teardrops seem
Underneath a moving sky

Even though
she will not cry

Whispers of the days now spent
To the echoes then her heart is lent
Midnight visions of stardust dreams
Hope is found in what is seen
The roof alive with the sound of rain
She smiles... and lets go the pain
Maybe, she thinks, the sky does know
The tears then, she needn't show

~

Wonder opens wide
Under a night sky
And it becomes everything
As raindrops stream
Their teardrops seem
To be falling from sky

This is how
They learned to cry

One journeys back across the leaves
Stepping out from inside the trees
Just as the other slows her pace
And arrives herself in that same place
They find each other at the end of the road
Standing together in the rain, they know
That falling down are tears not cried

Such a work of art here. It's amazing the things that hold so much meaning in everyday life. The leaves, the rain, tears, it was all such an emotional piece, and it really came to a head in that last stanza. I loved this. If your sister doesnt, make sure u really pinch her! lol great work though.

O.K. first let me say I have never received a poem for my birthday (I don't think) and I LOVE IT!!!!

Your title says it all and that IS exactly where we would meet - I am happy that we meet in the same place at the end (and that we are not crying!)
It's amazing how you've woven in the tears and the rain. (And that you're actually standing out in the rain at the end??!!! (I bet you have an umbrella!)

Thank you so very much for this!

"As raindrops descend from the sky
She closes her eyes… and smiles"
This is so very much ME and I am so happy you understand and love who I really am!!!

Alright now - it better start raining pronto cause I AM about to cry! I love you! and Thank you!!!!!

GT :)

Ah, a real poet. I love it, it's everything a poem should be. Do you write music? This would be a great song. I look forward to reading more of your work.

* Nods with understanding, viewing the artistic process as it happens *
The muses ... they speak so uniquely at times. There are times that what they want to say is not the way they say it, and sometimes they just speak too softly to hear ... I would say that once distraction faded ... they spoke to you and these words carry their volumes.

( really likes where this went )

From a Pisces perspective, this is reflective, in a way. You say you see the beauty of the world through her eyes, but I see it through your words (relating to her eyes).

I've been meaning to give this a properly attentive read for a while now, but somehow couldn't find the opportunity. I have, now, and am impressed. This is well-said, and beautiful. Bravo, I say!

Ughh why must I be always late for a birthday poems *Sighs*

Anyways… I thought this was clearly written to perfection Snemmy, you’re words speaks so much it moves peoples hearts on the feelings you where trying to signify. Great word usage as always and I just love the following lines below.

This is how
They learned to cry

Such a small line but it speaks so much.

Thanks for sharing this with all of us, and happy belated b-day GT

Jane.

This is excellent work...
containing magic, beauty, emotions... and all that is often inexpressible.

Wow!!! Two birthday poems in a row! This is a poem of awesome beauty and brilliant metaphors. I bet she loved it. One of the best birthday presents one can receive are the ones that are made for them and made from the heart. Your sweet heart!!! You really have one and it shows magnificently in this one!
