Do I look like a little girl?
Innocent and appealing?

Or maybe I look far away.
Is that it?
Do you see me with my head hung,
All alone in the world?

Where I ignore you,
And everyone else?
Oblivious to anything but me?

Do you see me as you?
A spitting image of yourself?
Am I your apprentice?
Am I mold of you and your thoughts?

Do you see me at all?
Do you see me cry?
Seeking your attention?

Do you see me?
Should I do something?
To make me stand out of the crowd?
What does someone have to do,

To get her own father,
To look at her?
To actually care? [comments] => 5 [counter] => 207 [topic] => 23 [informant] => EverlastingDawn [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 20 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FamilyPoems )

it is moving knowing the feeling lest most of us just give up by the time we reach 20. Tiffany J.

Fathers sometimes get themselves so wrapped up in the world that they don't take time to appreciate what they have, what really matters. Your poem, and the comment that Red October made, make me remember the distance my father had from me --- working sixteen hour days seven days a week. I really never had a father. As a father myself, I have tried to learn from these wrongs and commit myself to being receptive and available for my children.

Ooops... forgot to specifically mention that I liked your poem, the style and message was quite good and obviously thought provoking, as my earlier post relates.
