To make me stand out of the crowd?
What does someone have to do,

To get her own father,
To look at her?

How do you see me?
Do I look like a little girl?
Innocent and appealing?

Do you see me with my head hung,
All alone in the world?

Where I ignore you,
And everyone else?

Fathers sometimes get themselves so wrapped up in the world that they don't take time to appreciate what they have, what really matters. Your poem, and the comment that Red October made, make me remember the distance my father had from me --- working sixteen hour days seven days a week. I really never had a father. As a father myself, I have tried to learn from these wrongs and commit myself to being receptive and available for my children.
