Array ( [sid] => 87329 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Mother [time] => 2005-03-13 04:07:37 [hometext] => This poem is dedicated to my mom. The most amazing woman I've ever met. [bodytext] => You gave me life
and the chance to live.
For me to be happy
there's nothing you wouldn't give.

Don't blame yourself for my mistakes,
the decisions were all mine.
You did your job the best you could
and I've turned out just fine.

I know I complain about the things I don't have
and the people who did me wrong.
But the foundations you have built for me
are what make me stay so strong.

You are every bit of what I wish to be
and the women I am today.
You should be happy and proud
because it's you that made me this way.

When I get down and struggle with life
all I do is think of you.
All the things that stood in your way
and the ways you made it through.

I just hope when I have kids
that they're as wonderful as you.
So that when I stand in your shoes
I can say I did my job too.

What a beautiful poem. It could not have been written so beautifully had it not been from the heart. You wrap it up so well and put a beautiful bow on it with your last stanza.
