on that fateful night,
My life was changed
in a flash of light.

I opened my heart
and let you in,
Now with these lines
my story begins.

You were a miracle
that was sent to me,
The light in my life
so I could see.

You taught me to love
and showed me how to feel,
You gave my life meaning
and made it real.

You accepted my flaws
and all that is me,
You opened my heart
and set my soul free.

I always thought I knew it all,
everthing and more.
But with you by my side
I had someone else to live for.

In my eye is the sparkle of love
the chance to being anew,
I see things through a child's eyes
with a much clearer view.

Although we are no longer together
my heart remains the same.
You made me who I am today
and I thank you for that change.

It happened by chance

Thank you for sharing this one, I could totally relate to everything this poem stands for. Isin't it amazing on how many of us out there feel the same feelings each day.

Anyways i loved this one, it made me think about the love i lost a while ago.
