[hometext] => A poem about seeking religion.
[bodytext] => Naked on my couch, I pray to all the gods. A glass of red wine rests in my left hand while the communion wafer I saved from this morning lies on my knee. Around my neck, a pentacle hangs from a silver chain. A circle of salt surrounds me. On a marble pedestal by the window, a censer burns a gift given to me by Tibetan wise men. Near my bust of Pallas, a miniature totem honors all who came before me. Naked on my couch, I pray to all the gods because there is too much conflict to stick to just one. I sit in the middle of a scene cluttered with tokens of my desperation, and as I yearn for answers, direction, companionship, I dread a revelation that all of these relics are equally lame. Naked on my couch, I pray to all the gods when, after years of waiting, I receive, still, silence.
