[time] => 2005-03-09 18:04:01 [hometext] => This is just something I wrote in my head to keep me warm on my way home from school yesterday... [bodytext] => It was a boiling hot day, it was June 2005 and summer had just started. I was sitting on a bench in the park with my two best friends we were bored and boiling. It was only the beginning of summer and we were already bored. We had come to the park in search of something to do but we were too hot to think. Finally I suggested we go to my house where it was air-conditioned and watch a movie. Sara complained that it was such a beautiful day. Mark complained it was too hot to stay out though. So the three of us decided to go back to my house. So we trudged our way through the heat, beads of sweat pouring down our face. Clouds began to form in the sky, cooling down the air a bit. A light drizzle began, quickly turning into a harsh downpour. We ran under the closest scaffolding but we were already soaked. The rain dripped off our faces along with our sweat, our clothes clung to our bodies showing every shape in us. I was wearing only a shirt and a bathing suit. The water was warm only making the air damp and thick, doing little to cool us off. So Sara decided to twirl in the rain, we were all laughing hysterical at the site of each other. Mark and I decided to join Sara in the rain we were already soaked. Sara made a remark at how silly I looked in a t-shirt, throwing us all back into a fit of hysteria. We lay on the ground laughing and thinking about how we would never remember this day…
Why? Because it never happened, I am not with my two best friends I am alone in the freezing cold in March wandering home from school as the icy wind colors my cheeks and the freezing snow blankets me. I think and wish it were June 2005.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
