Uniform on
Holding his gun
Duty calls him to serve his nation
He'll be sailing out to the army's
station
His mother stands with pride at
the front door
But behind the broken smile
there's tears and alot more
For she stands to lose her only son
In this horrid war that's just begun
This image brought back memories
That still haunt her til this day
It was when she farewelled her husband
In the same and similar way
She can not bear yet another scar
For this time her heart will shatter and mar
As she kisses her only son goodbye
The tears she tries to hide
For she knows only too well
If he'll return only time will tell
Like her husband before her son
Uniform on
Holding his gun
She waves with pride to her son as
he heads to shore
Bringing back memories of her
husband
Before he went to war. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 191 [topic] => 48 [informant] => mina-1 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
