The first thing I'd do for the one I love
Is build a lighthouse
From the stars above

It will stand beside the sleeping sun
And shine on her darkest nights

I'll find the sounds of the living world
And write a song
Just for that girl

Every note will ring in memory
Of the best times she had in her life

With my hands, I'd take a mound of dirt
And grow an island
In the sea foam Earth

Ocean green palm trees will line in the sand
And sway with the breeze to keep us cool

If my love and I should ever part
I'll make a bridge
Leading out of her heart

Hiding my footprints that led there
By shattering the path after I've left
