with no lights
when you were around
it never felt so bright
breathing inside lies and
false promises to myself not true
the many colors feel dark
and not at all beautiful
the life is drifting away, not mine
trusting fate is how i lived the days
this city is foretelling my future
while my soul is being eaten away
slowly
the devil sees
the best way to get to me
through you
as i discovered what is true
you uncovered a whole new world
while i was bleeding for you
living between the shadows of buildings
and hiding where the fortunate ascend
i knew fully that i was willing
but i still felt like a victim
now as i wander the streets alone
surviving the lonely dream
i only wake up
to confirm that i've been sleeping
believing it could not last forever
and i would stumble into a better day
i would fly high in my state of mind
to escape the unfortunate truth that stayed
but as i woke up from this nightmare
one last time
i was so far out of touch
that this city suddenly seemed
to welcome me
and i was warped inside its love
somehow spiritual but rearranged
this city has definitely changed
now i walk the streets like a warrior
but my face is still the same
i still bleed for your happiness
and i still crave what it feels
at least this time
i know the difference between
imagined and real [comments] => 3 [counter] => 191 [topic] => 48 [informant] => Red_October [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Your creativity bleeds through your prose. Thank you for sharing. It couldn't have been said any better. A poem I truly enjoyed reading. Keep up the great work.
