One Last Roller Coaster Ride

Contributed by b_rand on Tuesday, 8th March 2005 @ 04:05:58 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

they call me a thrillseeker, there`s nothing i fear
and thus comes the puzzle: i draw thrill from fear
my life has run dry, or so it appears
and i can`t help but ask myself, why am i here?

and within this question, my brain lights a candle
there`s still an experience i haven`t dismantled
what would it be like to have my life canceled?
my mind goes in too many directions to handle

i could sail through the universe upon the great wind
i could find myself in a dream forever with friends
perhaps reincarnated - a new body to mend
or maybe just sleeping, an unconcious end

as the anticipation raises, so does the knife
it`s not too deep in that i need to slice
the pain can be dealt with as time becomes ice
i`m finally putting more life in my life

so can any of you give me a reason to stay?
is there any reason left for me to be saved?
i really don't think so - so dig me my grave
i`ve found a new thrill - in goes the blade

Very nicely done. I really like this one, I think my favourite line would have to be, actually, all of them. An excellent write, deep, powerful and insightful, thanks for sharing.

Take Care

so close to home. I’ve been there, friends, etc, etc.
I still cut. But I haven’t been suicidal lately.
Great poem.
