this place needs a haunting

i bought an old house near a graveyard
surrounded by a jagged iron fence.
‘this place needs new paint.’
i opened all the doors and checked all the closets.
and at the top of the staircase was an overly decayed room.
the wooden door was chipped and the knob was absent.
with a creak, i slowly pushed the door open,
and along the eastern window i saw a leafless tree…
blowing in the cold cemetery wind.
every few seconds, a branch would scratch the pane
and every few seconds, a sharp jolt plunged down my spine.
‘this place needs new everything.’
it was beautiful:
the dark tree, the cemetery wind, the disgustingly barren closets…
the odor of rotting wood, the sharp jolt down my spine…
the fact that i had it all to myself;
it was all mine…
all of it…
and the five hundred corpses buried in my backyard.
