Array ( [sid] => 86673 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Walking Dead [time] => 2005-03-06 22:11:44 [hometext] => This poem is not what it first appears to be.....it is about people who walk among us every day.....the ones who sometimes make the evening news....the ones with no remorse. [bodytext] => Walking Dead

Night has come and with it,
the souless rise, awakened by
the thirst unquenchable

They scour the streets
hunching in the shadows
deadly desire glinting
within their evil gaze

Soundlessly, they prey
upon the pure
upon the weak
upon those
who simply have
no strength to fight

They feed, as they torment
breaking hearts
breaking lives
breaking souls
they add to their numbers

For the beaten
shall rise to beat
The bruised
shall rise to bruise
The curse continues

Into the darkness
running from the light
they hide and hate
themselves
they know one day
the price will be
eternal fire

Recklessly, they smirk
knowing until that day
they roam the streets
cursing all who cross
their vicious paths

The angels cry
God bows his head
The earth reveals
the walking dead.

Wow. What an amazing poem. It tells a story, unique to itself. The emotions are portrayed nicely. The flow of the poem is nice, and makes the poem easier to read. Beautiful poem. Great Write.
