I hope it goes down as well here as it did then. It isn't quite true to the myth, but when you only have fifteen minutes poetic licence tends to overrule [bodytext] => This is the tale of Derek the sheep
Proud owner of the Golden Fleece.
His wool was prized about the lands
From Cairo, in the far off sands,
To Istanbul and Ancient Rome
Where many Caesars made their home.

Alas! Poor Derek was in a spot!
The gods, well, they cared not a jot
That Derek's wool was his only protection
Against the cold and from infection.
They sent young hero Jason from Greece
To steal poor Derek's shiny fleece.

"Please spare my coat!" the gold sheep cried.
"Silence, lesser beast!" Jason replied.
Ignoring the pleas the gold sheep said,
The hero sheared Derek from tail to head!
But Derek's wails moved Jasons heart,
"Poor sheep," he murmured, "Here you are,
Something to shield you from the weather's whimsies
A lovely woolen jumper from Sainsbury's!"

So Derek and Jason were both glad,
In fact, neither one of them was sad. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 190 [topic] => 7 [informant] => Laurielaurie [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => HumorPoetry )

You done very good for 15 minutes. I thought it was a very good story. Sometimes it takes me two weeks to write a poem. If you'd like read the [Millers] it took two weeks. I added a rhyme scheme in iambic pentimeter. You hardly even notice it rhymes at all, that makes it unforced rhyming. [Gene and Lucy Birdsong] took two weeks to write also. I wrote it in iambic pentimeter also, with a double acrostic. On both sides of the poem has their names. Very thought prevoking. Regards Wesley Willis
