Array ( [sid] => 8628 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => CASTLE OF PAIN [time] => 2002-12-15 17:30:00 [hometext] => When you're in the throes of depression it is hard to see your way out. But looking back on mine, I realize the answer was simple. The execution was not as easy but I made it out. [bodytext] => Fear was my counselor,
My closest companion.

Love was like the dawn,
Sweeping over the horizon.

But I hid from it's light,
Deep within the dungeon of myself.

Strength in my loneliness,
Was what I counted as my wealth.

I built the walls,
To keep the hurt outside.

I knew the truth,
But when I spoke I lied.

Kept within the Castle of Pain,
The hurt could not leave.

My fortress from the world was my prison,
And I could not breathe.

The barriers I built,
Were thick and strong.
The reasons I built them,
Were sick and wrong.

Finally I looked to the sky,
And saw the light of day.

So here now I stand,
Sledgehammer in hand,
And I pray.

Oh Lord,
Give me the strength,
To break down these walls.

Lord,
Give me hope,
To live my life,
With my feet on new ground.

Hey, this was a pretty good poem. The first line really grabbed me especially the WAS. Breaking out of depression is harder than u make it seem in the poem, but still it was a good poem!
