But there is nothing I can do or say.
My Mommy did not pass away,
She is still with us here today.
A box of chocolates
Or flowers, I could give.
A single homemade card,
Or a hug would do, too.
I could say I loved her,
I could make her breakfast,
I could buy her jewelry,
Even clean the house.
I could do all of these things,
And many more,
Because this is the only day
I can prove to my Mom
That I love her.
For I try to show her everyday,
I try to make her proud, in every way.
But she never believes me,
And she never notices.
So today I went all out,
Once she received everything
I went in for my finale
I hugged her and spoke the words
I’ve tried to show all these years.
But before I could she pushed me away
And yelled, “Get the ***** away from me,
I never want to see your face again.”
It is Mother’s Day
But there is nothing I can do or say.
My mommy is still here today,
Because I’m the one who past away.

very sad but written so well.
Reminds me of how good my three chillens have always fisxed my breakfast in bed when they were home and still now they are so good to me on mother's day-n-holidays.
A masterpeice as there are so many out there hurting this same way.
I would always try 2 woke up and force the food down even tho I don't get hungry that early.
Still I know they know I luv um 'cause I show um every chance I can.
huggs,
emy

oh, wow. That was a sad twist, rather unexpected I might add. I really love the subject matter you find the time to write about, because there's such a skill to the way you twist your endings or demonstrate the point of view in which it's written. I just keep on reading that last line you have there, and each time I do it has a greater impact. Before I get repetitive, lol it was an excellent poem.
