The seas of sin
Rise with tears
Of giving in
To fears

There're no memories of you
That I can remember to be true
Every single one of your pictures
Suffered the black fire's rapture
Of truth

You still flow in my veins
As the razor cuts with blame
You still flow in my tears
After all of these years

Extinguishing the truth that's burning
With the seas of sin that are rising
Are the pictures I never saw of you
And the memories I can't hold true

Because I don't know who you are to begin with
And even the mirror shatters from all of your sin [comments] => 4 [counter] => 165 [topic] => 13 [informant] => essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

This kind of reminds me of something that went on in one of my relationships. I really had no clue who the guy was- how can you hold on to the memories, if the whole time you were with the person they lied. it's hard to believe I got so worked up over him- I really can't believe what I put myself through- one of my reasons for actually starting to cut myself was because of him- and its painful to look back and see that his lies pretty much ruined me... i really don't talk to the guy anymore.. never know whether or not I can believe him and I really just want nothing to do with him. Anyways- great write here.

The emotions of betrayal and overwhelming sadness tumble throughout this so strongly.
A strong and effective poem.
