All these things I have to do
Seems like there's no time
Don't know who to ask for help
Situation and circumstance limit what I could do
So it's easier to put it off, play on
But underneath the pretend I still feel
The worry, wonder, set back and how
Can I move on, when everything I know
Is standing still?
I have to get my priorities straight
This I'm working on, getting there
School and grades, lessons and homework
Keeping everything in order and on time
Rewarded with letter grades that reflect my effort
And working on weekends is also new
Committing to a task, something is always expected of you
Confidence and character are established, and
I'm working for myself, earning and not getting
So two out of five are on the roll, but
I keep on growing
Gotta' get going
Next up is driving, commit to a permit
Practice and try, dedicate my time
Learn to drive
Focus on the future, know what is out there for me
So I look at what I want to do, to be
Find colleges and courses where I can see
Everything I ever dreamed of coming true for me
I will focus on my body and health
Keep alive and active and counting on life
Cleanse my body and mind
Let go of regrets that cannot be changed
And find what I can do now to make up for what has changed
I want to spend more time with my family
With my friends
Mend what has been broken, give overdue apologies
I'm starting right now, because I believe in myself
I promise to love faithfully
I vow to stay true to myself
Through school and work, driving and college
Health and staying close to my family
I'll prove to myself I know what I can be

very good and very wise for such a tender age.
This reminds me of my oldest daughter and an ole black lady. When they met she told her, "do good things and you'll have good things to look forward to, do bad things and you'll have bad things to look forward to. "
she was talking to my daughter but those few words helped to change my life. I'd been preached to all my life but those few words so p[owerfull to me.
Well yo8u've inspired me to write a poem.
I'll dedicate it to u. thanks so much.
luv, huggs, smiles,
emy
