I can not sleep tonight, I'm so afraid to shut my eyes
'Cause all I see's a smiling face that dissolves with the moon
And these stupid words, this stupid poem, can't remove the pain
They can't remove the hate that I can feel bruise my face

'Cause it's not fair of me
to let you stand, waiting
But I hope you are okay
Don't want to let this go away
You mean more than I show
I just thought you should know

I can not sleep tonight, my mind overflows with the past
And all I see's me and all of my pathetic attempts
at solving all the problems with just one word, just one breath
Don't know why I make this hard, but it bruises my heart

'Cause it's not fair of me
to let you stand, waiting
But I hope you are okay
Don't want to let this go away
You mean more than I show
I just thought you should know

"Fleeing the Scene of an Accident"

I can not sleep tonight, I'm so afraid to shut my eyes
'Cause all I see's a smiling face that dissolves with the moon
And these stupid words, this stupid poem, can't remove the pain
They can't remove the hate that I can feel bruise my face

'Cause it's not fair of me
to let you stand, waiting
But I hope you are okay
Don't want to let this go away
You mean more than I show
I just thought you should know

I can not sleep tonight, my mind overflows with the past
And all I see's me and all of my pathetic attempts
at solving all the problems with just one word, just one breath
Don't know why I make this hard, but it bruises my heart

'Cause it's not fair of me
to let you stand, waiting
But I hope you are okay
Don't want to let this go away
You mean more than I show
I just thought you should know

It's not fair

It has an original style and can be turned into song lyrics... Perhaps it's me reading poems at 2am in the morning but I am slightly confused about the meaning...

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
