Colored red, violet, and green
Majestic Rainbows of happiness
Are the outer layer of the death entombed
Laying within their hearts and inhaling through cold blue lungs
The pain does hide
From perfect white picket fence houses
Perfect green dew dropped lawns
Sweet Mother, Determined Father
A Cheerleader daughter blonde

"Keep up with the school"
"And run with the race"
Never to fall behind...
But the death still lingers and waits

Pretty daughter
Looks above the Heads
With acrid smoke arising
Inhaling joyful bliss
To Hell, with SYNTHETIC Suburbia ****!
Father "works" late with lipstick stained guilt resting on his cheeks
Mother...oh how Mother cooks and cleans and pops valiums like candy

And the Death filters out to become
Rainbow covered once more
As the sun arises
To a new day
A new way
Of scandels and lies covered by bleeding rose petals
They stitch together the glimmering pieces of broken crystal tears
Of lost innocent Suburbia years
To reveal
That they are simply just another cloud floating by
Like the rest of us...
To linger in empty eternity. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 180 [topic] => 25 [informant] => Alina [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

I think this poem was amazing. You captured the 'normal' family so well! How true, but how sad. Great write!
