My talent now starts to fail me
As all of the poetic lines bleed
The insecurities of expectation
And paper's frayed desecration

My reasons for writing fade
With the invisible ink's hate

The rhyme scheme ends
As all the wounds mend
Into the scars that remain
From the self induced pain

Of never achieving perfection
And only writing imperfection

The scars on the paper wash away
And are replaced with blood stains
Of mistaken expectations of today
That are written in the ink's hate

For those who don't deserve to write
And bleed themselves to sleep at night [comments] => 11 [counter] => 155 [topic] => 13 [informant] => essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 19 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

strong write. I think we all suffer with the loss of inspiration, each of us in our own way.

a good piece. i do not follow you in a few spots but i love the thoughts displayed in the first stanza. me, i won't use an eraser, i'd just crumple it up in frustration...probably am primarily responsible for half of a rain forest's desecration/destruction.
nice job
thanks for sharing

This poem is really good. I find it's true for me, and probably others, 'cause I only started writing when I was upset but whenever I was content I couldn't write for the life of me. So...yeah. Keep on writin', or whatever.

if one has to work so hard at poetry that it causes them pain maybe they should try something else, short stories. however, nothing good comes easy. we think that others before us wrote their poetry, first draft. this is good however long it took you.

I think this was probably the best poem I have ever read, your talent surpasses SO MANY other poets, you have a knack for this! A true gift. "For those you dont deserve to write, And bleed themselves to sleep at night." This was my favorite line, and quite an ending I might add, it really provokes the reader's mind, forcing them to think., very inticing!
