I want to grow dim,
I don't want to shine,
To be happy or win.

I want a family that hits and yells
I want a friend that always tells.
I want a knife to hide my secrets,
And a drawer to burry the pills.

I need a notebook to keep track of wills.
I need a memory that always forgives but never forgets,
I need parents that always fight
A single phone call the will ruin the night.

I want a life that isn't mine,
I want to grow dim,
I don't want to shine,
To be happy or win.

I need the tragedies to cry myself to sleep.
I need the glass to dig in too deep.
I need everyone to disappear
So I can feel as if no one cares.

I want to become so depressed I'm not afraid of dares.
I want to fall in and out of love,
I want to feel like there's no God up above,
So that I'm not scared to take my life.

I want a life that's no longer mine
I want to crawl back, turn the light dim,
I don't want it to shine,
I hate being happy, I can't let myself win.

I want an attempt to succeed.
I need to make sense of my words,
I want to hide in all my masks
So I don't have to speak when someone asks.

I want a life to eat me up inside
I need someone to uncover the things I hide.
I want to realize who I am
So I can have the life I need.

I want a life that's no longer mine
I want to crawl back, turn the light dim,
I don't want to shine,
I hate being happy, I can't let myself win.

I want the life that's left me
The one that's taught and raised me
Up until a year ago when all feeling was gone,
And now it will never come back,
For the light will stay on. [comments] => 11 [counter] => 169 [topic] => 25 [informant] => xXcrossedXx [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

Excuse my language, but that was ***** amazing. You are such a great writer. You wrote what I myself feel everyday, but i can't get it out as poetically as you do!

What a relatable piece of artwork you have here! There's something about this that I can just so easily relate to and it has so many things that I wish for all the time. The ending was so strong, that light had better stay on! lol, this is just something you should totally be proud of, and I think I like this poem over all your others, by far. I'm dead serious, I think you've struck gold here with this idea. I could go on and on about how great this poem is, but I think I'd get annoying in a few moments time, lol. Amazingly amazing work!!!
