It shows how powerful love is. [bodytext] => A knife to the wrist, a punch with a fist
It all means the same to me
They hurt and cause pain, and drive me insane
But none of them break me free

A slap to the face, the purest disgrace
Beatings day in and day out
A bruise from the floor, black eye from the door
So this is what my life’s about

Dragged from the hall, and pushed to the wall
And told if I move I'm dead
Physically abused, to keep him amused
Death would be better instead

30 long years and rivers of tears
A husband with no loving touch
Day after day, he treats me this way
But I still love him very much [comments] => 4 [counter] => 246 [topic] => 48 [informant] => dancingcatz [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Whoever this poem is about you or someone else, don't you think there is something wrong with not only the guy but with a woman who can love someone who constantly abuses them. Both need some counseling. I was in an abusive relationship myself many moons ago. It didn't take long to realize, being beat and being belittled IS NOT LOVE. Thank goodness I did not stay because now I am with a wonderful man who actually loves me and doesn't treat me like his possession. Much peace to you.

You have a great way of writing. You are able to rhyme without compromising the content. Wow, I hope you are not allowing someone to hurt you like that. I also hope you do not have children that have seen it.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
