Dry me out like I want you to
Soak up what I get from you
The water runs down the drain again
Kill me with your kiss
Strangle me with your lovely nails
Hide my body still
The wind blows but doesn't seem to realize

You strip away my sense of
A stretched out stitch of what I was
You can't take it when I'm giving in
Let's just stop and start all over again
Shove away my thoughts
They don't affect you like you need them to
The boots stomp on the floor
I don't need them leave them at the door

Seek me with your frown
I love it when you lay me down
To die under the ground
I'm still alive but there's still no sound
Coming from the earth
Six feet under I'm still all that I was worth
I love it where I'm at
So peaceful and so miserably the same

The timeless shapes all fade
The angles of your face corode away
And I've climbed up from my grave
To greet you like you want me to
Still alive and yet still dead
The wind blows across your bed
But I'm still the same
I've evaded your torment again
The torment preordained for me
To abide by and die for what's still left

Hate me all the same
I throw it back in your face for once
And you're left with all the shame
Because you couldn't kill all that I'm living for
I love you more than ever
You showed me what it was like to finally live
Alive and well surpassed by the fame
By the fame of your once fatal frame I'm alive again [comments] => 0 [counter] => 302 [topic] => 13 [informant] => InexactExactness [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
