Array ( [sid] => 85340 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => My special Rainbow [time] => 2005-02-22 19:43:50 [hometext] => made for my bff since 1st grade and the bff that dissappeared **rough draft (my comp. is broke) so nothing is saved** sorry for typos and errors [bodytext] => People talk of rainbows
With pots of gold on the other end.
But the only rainbows with pots of gold
Are the ones named My Friend.
He first starts with red
To show love and emotion,
Courage and devotion.
Next he has a row of orange
To show a happy side,
An energetic smile that makes me forget times I've cried.
Yellow is his mellow style
His calm repulsive self,
It's this that makes him silent and learn about himself.
Green keeps him going.
He gets jealous but then subsides
For green is also a love for nature, with beautiful mountains and horse rides.
Blue is next,
Very sensual and easy going
The color that keeps our friendship growing.
With only a few colors left indigo says it best.
It says he's unique and very special
One that's unforgettable.
Next is violet,
That expresses more to come
Because these are only some
Of the colors in the rainbow that describe my bestest friend.
The only rainbow
That holds a pot of gold at the end. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 166 [topic] => 16 [informant] => xXcrossedXx [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

Rough draft or not the idea struck me as amazing, and for a rough draft, frankly, I didnt even notice, lol. It's such a carefree poem that only speaks buckets about the positive things in life, some of which I should remember when a relationship that's almost flushed down the toilet for me now. I love the metaphor most of all, the idea of the rainbow and pot of gold and how you broke it down piece by piece and explained all those various aspects, it was really well done. There's something about this poem I really like, I think it was all the pretty colors...lol
