I promised you my soul to keep
But you, God, you ain't that much fun
And really, neither is your Son

You tell me what to do and when
Anything else is a "mortal sin"
People can hurt me and that's okay
Because they'll regret it...someday

I have to turn the other cheek
You hide whenever I come to seek
You never talk to me at all
I think you like to see me fall

You sit up there all high and mighty
But to me, you're kinda flighty
Why can't you just try to fight?
Where is all this godly might?

I watch as my world falls apart
And you were nowhere from the start
My friends suffer, hurt, or die
And you don't even answer why

Of you, my Lord, I have no trace
Are you afraid to show your face?
Are you embarrassed of what you've done?
You screwed up, Almighty One.

You said I'd be happy, you said I'd be free
Hell, you promised paradise, where would that be?
This world is broken, there are no laws
And still you don't even return my calls

You think you're so perfect, so great, don't you?
Something good happens? Oh, that's your cue
But where are you when we're in pain?
I think we've got a right to complain

But no, one word and I'm a heretic
You know, I don't think you deserve the credit
Who is it that suffers and works for a life?
When did you last experience strife?

Are you listening? Are you even there?
Hell, are you even anywhere?
Why don't you show me, why don't you speak
You've got power...I just want a peek

I just want to know that it isn't for *****
That when I die, that's not gonna be it
I want to know you're going to be there for me
But so far, you're nowhere that I can see

I'm tired of hypocrisy, I'm tired of your lie
I'm tired of being meek, quiet, and shy
I'm tired of believing that you're really true
If you were me, what would you do?

You don't help me, you don't take blame
You put me through hell, I'm going insane
The prayer, it don't work, the church...is a joke
It's a noose and a rope and I'm going to choke

I'm going to drown in this world all alone
So please don't smite me for my blasphemous tone
I just want to see if you're listening there
I just want to see if you...even care

So, now I lay me down to sleep
I know I promised You my soul to keep
But should I die and change my mind
Send me to Satan with some wine.

welcome to YPDC, here you are alwasy a member of our family, so please, enjoy yourself.

this is truly sad, I hate to see people mock God in such a way, He is there and you know it you feel Him when you are going to do something that you know isnt right, thank God for that, you heer Him when you heer a baby laugh, thank Him for that too, you see Him when ever you go out side, read a book when you look at those who you love, also thank Him for that. yes this world is full of pain and suffering, we've all had our share of it and you know what we still thank Him for it because every strugle in our life He has put there to make us better people and to show us that we can do noting with out Him and He rewards those who reman faithful. I know what it feels like to have these questions bothring you, they have me, and some still do but when I find myself thinking on then I just ask for peace and strength to get through it and He has always givin it in abundece. Dont be dicuraged by life it does seem hard at times but you got it a whole lot better then others do. dont give up on Him so soon just wait and see what he has in store for you. be strong

all eles aside this was a good poem it had a nice flow to it and it did get one to thinking, but it was also sad to see the way you feel about God, he is there weathere you beleave it or not. just know that if you have Him, He will never leave you.be strong dont give up and God bless. (I will pray for you friend.)

This is an excellent poem. I don't agree with much that it says, but that doesn't matter, you did a marvelous job of writing it.
Sometimes we don't recognize what God does for us. He gave you wonderful talent. Don't waste it.
If I sound preachy, I didn't mean to. you the One good thing about bad times is that they make the good ones seem so much better. Good luck to you.

Hey again, Love thhis poem. Nicely written, feeling and it flows nicely...

I myself am not a full believer... You're right that God doesn't show himself and that u think he's a joke... But I've learned that maybe he's just like us... human... And just look at what WE'VE done to ourselves...

Anyway... I don't believen in God at all really... I don't believe that there's a man sitting up on a cloud watching over us, I just believe that there's a higher power somewhere... Or atleast... I'd like to think so...

I believe very strongly, but I don't know that I know the God of whom you speak, nor of the satan. God/Jesus are my very best friends, and they have stood by me when everyone---and I do mean EVERYONE---in this world deserted me. satan has proven himself to be a liar in my life. Every time I leaned to what he wanted me to do, it only led me to heartache and misery. I know where I belong now, and I am grateful to be there.
