Array ( [sid] => 85148 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Little Johnny Suicide [time] => 2005-02-21 10:51:52 [hometext] => I'm sort of having a dig at all the kids who in the space of a week listen to goth/metal/emo music and started cutting up with this. If you are one of these people... *shakes head* tut tut. [bodytext] => Little Johnny Suicide,
with a scratch on his wrist,
thinks "aha an idea I cannot resist".

Up to his room he goes,
takes out a pen and paper,
with his suicide club style candle and lights an over dramatic taper.

Writing his last note,
sat on his bed,
Little Johnny suicide shakes his head.

Slowly he writes,
and forms a cross on his chest,
scrawling a million reasons for being depressed.

"***** you mummy,
***** daddy too,
you should have given me that rub on tattoo."

"And all my friends,
will cry and cry,
they'll wish they'd given me a proper goodbye."

So Little Johnny suicide,
takes his knife,
and looks back at his oh so difficult life.

Those times in school,
where no matter how hard he was crying,
the teacher always knew that he was lying and lying.

At his brothers wedding,
when his grandma wouldn't take a no,
and she kissed him on the lips and it was on the big photo.

So it's good bye cruel world,
Thanks for nothing...
But then up the stairs comes the smell of his mother's cooking!

Down little Johnny suicide rushes,
and gobbles down his lunch,
"That was delicious mummy thanks a bunch!"

Then up he returns,
to his pit of gloom,
posters of his favorite bands plastered around the room.

Returning to his ritual,
he sits with the blade,
and scratching it over his skin he carefully played.

Johnny still not dead in the morning?
ah you must understand,
he only ever scratched his hand.

His cuts were there,
so he could tell his friend,
how he wanted to make it all end.

But Little Sally Suicide in her room,
was fooled by this ploy,
and started writing about the time her daddy wouldn't buy her that new toy.

And so the children played,
again and again,
without a thought for any real pain. [comments] => 8 [counter] => 266 [topic] => 36 [informant] => acid_lucidity [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 6 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

WOW This was a good write, hit a nerve with me I guess. I do understand what you mean. It seems so many young teens today think thats the answer, the solution: DEATH. Or at least they're fantazing about the whole death thing. I don't understand the whole goth thing. I do have a nephew and a young friend who both delve in that scene. It is far away from my world of being a hippie and a deadhead. But I do not want to seem like a hypocrite here. I too went through a similar crazy stage at around 14. I was also a child who had lost her father with cancer at nine and just found out at 14 my mother was diagnosed with cancer as well. My whole suicide thing was guilt. I felt I deserved to die and not my mother. Crazy sh*t. Now I'm 40 and my whole life is very different and damn I'm glad I'm here on this earth. So I hope all the kids out there will understand, you will grow up, and you will be glad you were a strong survivor!!!! Much peace to all.

that was one of the reallest poems that I have read in regards to this subject ; most attempts are a plea for attention not help.I like the way u kept it simple enough for all to understand . I think I lose people sometimes in my mind's web . Maybe I need My own planet - ha ha .But then again I'm sure those who wrote actual suicide poems feel the same way !

Wow, that was awesome. That reminded me a lot of a poem I once read called Missy. I don't know if anyone else has ever read it, I'll try to find it and post it here. A girl at my school wrote it, anyway that was really good, ten outa ten!

hey nice poem...but its not always bs when it comes to suicde. I tried it after years of abuse from my father...years of living with rape...and watching my family be ripped apart. Its not always away to say my life is so bad, its just a thought of hope just maby to make the real pain stop...any way i really did like your poem it was an excellent rite

I love this poem!! It is so true, I mean, not always, but I think that it IS really shady that cutting, suicide, parental bs ...it all became a fad somewhere along the line...Top Notch Write for sure!!
