As an uncle I felt your parents pride
Your hair a ravon silk
Skin of creamy milk
I got to hold you cuddled you in my big arms
A baby an infant so white it should have set off alarms
I watched you start to grow
I saw as you started to crawl
On my knees with a silly giggle
Joey you scooted with a shimmering wiggle
Your fingers and nails why were they so dark
Mom and Dad took you to the doc.
The doctor could see
This an emergency
A few days of testing they found the result
Joey has a hole in his little heart
At that time there was nothing, nothing they could do
You never came back home you were turning so blue
If only you were born today
Defintly we would play
Late at night angels came
Glory to God I'm sure they sang
Your poor parents funeral plans making
Heart breaking
Why even be born
At four months you were gone
The huge church was cowded and very hushed
Everyone in the family just crushed
The people all breathed at once the whole congergation
At the alter your little white coffin
I have never seen anything this sad
So sad
The priest spoke prayerful lofty words
In all this grief I don't know if anyone heard
In most families an angel is called or made
Time will tell that your little Joey will lead
The will of God yet goes unseen
Just believe Joey will fly and Joey will sing
God has given him a place
A place where he sees Him face to face

Sinned
