As black as coal
They pierce into
Your very soul

His stare is such
That we don’t see
All we’ve done
Is set him free

He made his home
Behind those bars
For robbing stores
And stealing cars

Then one day
In sixty-seven
He booked his place
In altar heaven

Those girls and Tex
Took lives for him
The scenes they left
So very grim

To start a war
Tween black and white
This is his goal
His plan, his sight

His word he gives
For what it’s worth
To return one day
And rule this Earth

For if he does
We all must prey
There’s no one left
This darkest day

My Lord I trust
You’ll overcome
The evil in this child

I knew who you were referring to as soon as you mentioned the eyes. He still creeps me out. I used to hike right there at the ranch where he was staying with his brood. After all the news was released, I said a silent prayer that I was not somehow caught up in the crossfire.
Very intense write. Gave me goosebumps, even here in the warm desert where I now live.
Take care,
Sherry

Thankyou Candice,
This is the first poem I wrote that wasn't about or for my lost love!
I am pleased you like it, as rarely for one of my own, I do too!
He is a worrying little man indeed!

With love
Dean:-)

Dean, indeed he is. I swear there seems to always be something about him a tv even now. I only know this because my grandma seems to always be watching something about him. She watches some of the weirdest things.
