The swimming star told me, I didn’t hear…

The rhythmic waves told me, I didn’t listen…

Silent speaking stones warned me, I did not heed…

The old man’s hands showed me, he told me often
in a timely tone…

I looked and never saw; heard but never listened.
I walked a path without a purpose; wasted
Precious gifts, limited in supply…

…and for all my losses,
equally great are my regrets…

The swimming star told me, I didn’t hear…

The rhythmic waves told me, I didn’t listen…

Silent speaking stones warned me, I did not heed…

Okay, this one is going off a guess...
First off, loved it, even if you are a little too arrogant with your stuff. XP
Now that that's out of my system...
The way I see it, there were so many things saying that life (or some aspect of it) was going in the wrong direction, but still this person ignored these signs and muddled through it without a real reason, just because he or she could (defiance, mayhaps?). Suddenly, it seems so clear that there were things along that path that were missed, that should have been enjoyed or changed in some way. Instead of ignoring the signs, this person should have taken heed and changed what was so wrong. Now, there is little left of what once could have been, and for every tiny thing lost, there is a regret attached to it.
Oh well, I'm not very good at analyzing poetry at ten at night.
*eats cocoa puffs* I still liked it. ^^

I liked your theme for this nostalgic poem which brought on a sense of realization towards the end, at first I dint know what to think so I re-read the poem and know exactly what you meant, but sometimes in poems I don’t like to read contradicting words like.
"Silent speaking stones" don’t get me wrong, I know what you meant - but there's better ways of using a "sui generis" sentence like that..
Overall I thought it was good and I enjoyed it.
