Array ( [sid] => 84799 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Her Struggle [time] => 2005-02-17 21:11:05 [hometext] => I wrote this poem for my niece some time ago. I'd like some input on what you think. Your comments are very much enlitning and appreciated [bodytext] => Her life had started at an early age
So much tragedy had come her way
When many girls were having fun
Her world as a mother had just begun
Long long nights the baby would cry
Noone around to watch as she tried
The love she had given was not enough
He didn't care, he treated her rough

Eyes that did wander as women walked by
A beating she'd get if she asked him why
Names that he called her stabbed at her heart
No matter the reason, he tore her apart

The days that did come, the more she would yearn
That once happy time whaen she was a girl
No one would bother with all those demands
No having to worry about child in hands

But there she would stay in all that abuse
For she felt unworthy and this he did use
So well he had taught her with all that he gave
He kept her around as his private slave

One day she woke up for first she would see
"Oh God please help me" she got on her knees
"Give me the courage to take back my life
To leave all this pain and misery behind
I promise," she told God "to you I'll be true
for both of my children and myslef too"
"That man that I loved will never again
control me nor ever touch me with his hand
I can now see what had blinded before
What you have created may no man destroy"

"More than deserving of love and of peace
Denied of these feelings this man kept from me
but now that I've opened my eyes to the real
I'll never go back to that love that did kill"

"So precious this life with my children I share
I promise to you I will raise them with care
A mommy and daddy to them I will be
Please God allow me form his hatred be free"

"I will not look back to that time once ago
Straight to the future where happiness grows
At last I will kiss all the sadness goodbye
Say hello to a new life, no tears in my eyes
As I will take it one day at a time
I know that the future I want will be mine" [comments] => 5 [counter] => 159 [topic] => 21 [informant] => bibi [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

very powerful write about how young girls confuse sex with love and get caught up in a bad situation that they feel they can not get out of, until they realize sex plus abuse does not equal love.
