It's hard to look at his picture in the yearbook, because I know he's not here anymore [bodytext] => There he is, staring back at me
The face I've seen a million times
His name still echoing in my head
As his familiar eyes won't let me look away

My brain is bleeding
His face still reflected in my eyes
Devoured in his own high school war
One last defeat left him for the body count

I wonder if he can see my tears
Or feel the chaos behind my eyes
A captured moment when everything was okay
Those eyes have seen what most of us fear

That smile no longer spreads across his face
I'm lost in a moment that no longer exists
Taken away, but where is he now?
One memory... he's still in the yearbook [comments] => 6 [counter] => 193 [topic] => 39 [informant] => UnfallenTears [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )

Great poem, when u get the chance, go back and read one of my poems called "last words". I wrote about looking in my yearbook and seeing the last words my friend left behind before he was killed in a car accident. Im so sorry for your pain.
