So I've told you many times it's true,
I'd do anything, just anything for you.
I knew if you were hurt, I'd ache alongside too,
That if you had a worry, I'd do my best to take it from you.
I do not doubt my word, I would
A promise not just to you, but in my heart
I'd find the pieces if you ever fell apart.

I'd hoped to meet someone I could talk to,
Lean and depend on, grow to love.
But there are things I see in you,
That I could never have dreamed of.

I will always lend a hand, or two
I'd do anything you asked, so please do.
Know there's nothing you can't ask, tell, or say,
There is nothing that could turn my friendship away.
It seems unreal that I should have a friend so great as you,
What I did to get so lucky, I may not ever know
So I'll give you one more thank you, although...

We both know it will not be the last,
So let me just say this real fast...
I love you. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 247 [topic] => 16 [informant] => calista [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

Most poems I read here about love are really about desire instead. This one is about love. Good write.
