My lashes fell, splashed into a tear
That felt like a fist, but was entirely missed
By anyone I cared to have seen
How I cried, but they only let me be
I wept my heart into my palms
With no one but myself to comfort me back to calm
With faith that soon will come the answer to my only prayer
I'll never stop hoping for a better anywhere

Crumpled in the corner of a bed I don't know
I let myself down, I let myself go
Alone in a room alive with people alike
I cry, cry to the reasons I'll never find
Paper cups with pills to keep away the paper cuts
And faceless voices trying to nurture me back
And even through this, I wait for the answer to my only prayer
I'll never stop hoping for a better anywhere

Questions go unanswered, mine and theirs
Comfort and loving looks are met with only stares
I feel my hands trembling, know I'll break inside
Feel the tears backing up behind my closed eyes
Slipping by
I cry
But I have to keep believing I'll find the answer to my only prayer
I won't stop hoping for a better anywhere
