He used it to regain his mind,
a sense of closure.
Weight.
A burden on his being,
the need to be great
overrode his sense of balance,
spiraling out of control,
he didn't make sense
anymore to anyone,
so quickly it becomes undone.
What is the darkness but a place to hide?
Hide from yourself those tears you cry.
Through bleary eyes of one who pretends to cry
you can see through the lies of honest guys
and girls who promise the world for time,
but give you nothing but reason to rhyme.
Drinking is to depression,
as loving is to the question
of pleasure over pain,
the journey over the destination
if he can't partake of any,
he's lauded and held up high.
He's a straight edge, if he tries
to try at life, he's cast out,
held at home without
the company he wants to be in
so he quits it all, to try and begin
it all over again.
He's a bad man.
Does what he can
to make the world a worse place.
Cast to hell, far from grace,
he finds peace
in his new disease.
Put his mind at ease.
Show a flower, a dove,
a symbol of love from heaven above,
show him salvation without resentation,
apology without recindation,
save his life,
save his soul.
What is darkness, but the absence of light?
What is my blame, but the change of a name
from he to me I begin to see
that I'm not hiding from myself in here.
I'm hiding from you.
My greatest fear. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 168 [topic] => 48 [informant] => CodyJ [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
