hold me closer than the air we breathe,
wrap your arms around my waist,
ill enclose my embrace around your neck,
and as the darkness layers the sky,
silence is reached and the sounds of the lands are all but the winds fleeing through the trees,
my hair gently flies away from my face,
my tears run across my face with each blow,
then you look me in the eye,
you look me straight into the soul,
you tell me with your voice calmed and hushed,
we can get through this,
we can do this,

then you prize my arms from your neck,
then you begin to walk against the winds,
i stay lying in my own despair,
hidden in the grass and behind my hair,
you descend to the dusty road,
your bag on your back,
when will i see you again,
how do i know if you are ever coming back?
i release my arms from their strain,
then lie my body into the dewy grass flat,
why did they make you leave me,
how could they do that?
war is far from ended,
and i fear your judgement day,
i give my heart's blood and love to you,
then mutter alone to myself and pray.... " [comments] => 1 [counter] => 161 [topic] => 57 [informant] => in2thetwilightzone [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 3 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => war )
